Up at 4:30a, eating a PB&J sandwich by 4:32a. Shower, dress, etc. Walking over to the race start by 5:15a. After a brief warmup, the gun goes off at 6a (contrary to my previous claim it started at 7a), fireworks light up the sky and 12000 anxious runner start their journey. I waited a full 10 minutes from the start gun before I crossed the start line. This was to give all of the other runners time to get on the course and thin out a bit. Otherwise, I can't actually run at my target pace with all of the 'traffic'. That plan worked pretty well. I didn't have to do much bobbing and weaving...
