Carter has had a cold for quite some time now.

Maybe said better "Carter has had several colds over the last few weeks". There can be only one explaination for this: daycare. Carter started daycare a few weeks ago as Nicole went back to work. Within the first 3 days he had picked up hand, foot and mouth disease. The bad news is that he had to stay home the next week. The good news is that he's unlikely to pick it up again.
Immediately after returning back to school, he picked up another cold. I've never seen so much snot! Ryan picked up what Carter had almost immediately. I got it a few days later (GRR!) In the meantime Carter started pulling on his ears and getting fussy when we put him down. Both signs that he might have an ear infection. One doctor visit later, we confirmed that indeed he had an ear infection and some bronchial stuff. For the ears we got amoxicillin. Standard fare. For the lungs we got albuterol.

It turns out that albutuerol is crack for kids. The doctor mentioned it might make Carter a little hyper. It was my bad for not relaying this info to Nicole. She didn't know what she was in for when she gave him a hit of that stuff at 1am this morning :) Afterwards Carter was doing laps around the house for over an hour!

Daddy slept like a baby last night, btw.
